Duckish Natural Skincare Review & Demo*

Over the past couple of months, I've simply been getting sick of mainstream skincare products. I've tried lots and I've loved lots but the benefits from many of the products I've tried just haven't lived up to my expectations. This has caused me to branch out into more natural products and more local products. I've been able to try several brands and several products.

And today, I'm going to be talking about Duckish Natural Skincare.

Duckish Natural Skincare is a handmade natural skincare line owned, operated and produced from Halifax, Nova Scotia. While I don't live directly in Halifax, the city is close enough to me that I classify this as a local skincare company. So when Carolyn, the co-founder, from Duckish Natural Skincare contacted me about receiving some of the products to try, I was more than excited to try the products and learn more about the benefits of natural skincare products and specifically Duckish products!

Currently, Duckish Natural Skincare products are only available online to my knowledge (correct me if I'm wrong) and ship within Canada through their Canadian website and the USA through their USA website. Products within the Duckish line range from body butter's to lotion sticks, lip balms, and baby products - so there is something for everyone. And with price points from $4 to $140 there is also something that fits everyone's budget.

Carolyn was EXTREMELY generous to me and I was able to receive a large variety of products to test, compare and now review for all of my readers. Yes, these products were sent to me for review but that doesn't mean my options have been altered in any way by the company. Many of you will know that I'm brutally honest and I will certainly be with these products as well.

LAVENDER BODY BUTTER:

Is it just me or is there a large majority of you reading this post that hate smearing thick and sticky lotions on your skin? Then you have to put clothes on and the product you just put on gets even worse! With the Duckish Natural Skincare Lavender Body Butter that DOESN'T happen! One of the best perks of this product is that because of the natural oil's used in its production the product doesn't have a sticky lotion feeling. Instead, it has an oil like texture that quickly sinks into the skin leaving the skin immediately hydrated and giving a natural glow.

I love putting my body butter on in the evening after a nice relaxing bath or right before I head to bed. This allows me to get comfy and forget the product is on my skin. In the morning, my skin is less dry and visible looking healthier and softer. The one downside to this product is the scent. I absolutely am in love with the lavender scent, but I feel that this product has a very strong mint type of smell. Mix this scent with the lavender one and it isn't the most appealing and generally just smells like your typical natural skincare product.

LAVENDER & PINK GRAPEFRUIT LOTION STICK:

Ingredients: Grapeseed Oil, Beeswax, Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Olive Oil, Organic Shea Butter, Sweet Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Lavender Essential Oil OR Pink Grapefruit Essential Oil, Vitamin E, Rosemary Leaf Extract

Lotion in a stick? Yes, you've heard it right! For all of those ladies like me who hate smearing lotion on with your hands, this nifty little lotion stick is the perfect product for YOU! I've never heard or seen a Lotion Stick previous to learning about Duckish Natural Skincare and one of the main reasons I wanted to try some of their products was because I was really interested to try this nontraditional way to apply lotion. And it was a SUCCESS! The perfect part about this product is all you have to do is smear the lotion on your skin straight from the stick - no hands required.

One thing I'm unsure of is if this formula is the same as the Body Butter formula! I find them to be pretty much identical but when you look at the ingredients there are some slight differences. I've tried both the products at the same time (one on each arm) and I haven't noticed any differences in how my skin feels after application or the next morning. My skin feels extremely hydrated and looks glowy and healthy with both products! For this product and the Body Butter, it's all a preference of how you would like to apply the product(s).

Again the Lavender scent is this is a bit off for me and smells much more mint than lavender. However, it's the Pink Grapefruit scent that I've fallen in love with. If you've ever had a Chocolate Orange or smelled orange chocolate before that is exactly what this Pink Grapefruit sent reminds me of. It is absolutely beautiful and lingers on the skin for a decent amount of time but is light enough that others might not actually smell it on you.

LIP BALM:
Retails for $3.99

Ingredients: Beeswax, Organic Shea Butter, Organic Olive Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Organic Coconut Oil, Pink Grapefruit Essential Oil/Eucalyptus Essential Oil, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Vitamin E (ingredients will differ based on lip balm flavor)

Did you know? I'm obsessed with lip balms! Back when I was on Accutane my best friend quickly become lip balm and you could find a hand full in my purse or backpack! This hasn't changed since. You can still find tons hiding in the bottom of my purse and I love trying new ones. I have quickly discovered that the Duckish Natural Skincare Lip Balms are some of my absolute favorites. One problem I have with lip balms is that they can sometimes feel thick and heavy on the lips. Whereas the Duckish Lip Balms have a very thin and moisturizing formula due to the use of the natural oils within the products.

These products are seriously something I'm jumping for joy for! 

I'm so thankful for Carolyn and her amazing company and that she was so generous in allowing me to try some of these fantastic products. If you are tired of mainstream skincare products and in the market to try something that is natural I highly recommend checking out Duckish Natural Skincare.
