LA Girl Glazed Lip Paint Review!

Thursday, October 16, 2014

After hearing so many people rave about this brand new product by LA Girl I knew that I had a very long wishlist! I decided to go on the hunt middle of last week and low and behold I walked into my local drugstore and there they were! However the price sucked, these are only $3 online at most sites however here in Canada and in my area these are $5.50! I decided to purchase the four shades I thought I would really wear out of the whole display of 18, and then I waited until the following week to go back (October 9th to be exact) and come to find out there were on sale for $4.40. I decided to pick up four more shades but this time in ones that I really wanted to experiment with some more. I seriously want them all, minus a few shades, and I will be trying to pick them up to complete my collection in the future and as these go on some more sales and such!

I know many people have compared these to the Too Faced Melted Lipsticks and since I don't have those to try I really can't compare them myself but I have heard the Too Faced version dries more matte than these and the Too Faced one's don't have a minty smell, taste and feeling on the lips. In saying that I think the one and only downfall with this product is the minty scent and for me personally because I'm not a huge fan of the fake mint smell. I also find that these tingle the lips when there being applied, to reduce this effect I just lightly added some lip balm on my lips before application as well as on top to give it more of a lipstick type of feel. The only other downside, which isn't really a downside, is the application; I find with this product because of the plastic applicator that its not easy to slide over the lips so I tend to like to use a lip brush for a more precise and even application!

In saying that, I really think that LA Girl Cosmetics has come up with a really great product! The only thing that really shocked me was the pigmentation of this product! Many of the shades appear exactly as the tube color but these can be sheered out to create a more natural type of look - which is what I like to tend to do with this product. Because of the formula as well, these are a bit tacky, they cling to the lips very well while not making the lips look cakey and dry. This formula I think really helps enable to the lipstick/lipgloss to stay on the lips for a good length of time before reapplication - which by the way is a really easy process because its easy to throw another layer on without worry that the layer underneath is going to make it appear dry, clumpy and cakey.
Swatches (left to right): Elude, Peony, Blushing, Babydoll, Tango, Coy, Seduce and Pin Up

The other great thing is if you aren't into something as daring as a bright purple lipstick you can always opt for other color options! There are 18 to chose from and I believe there is a color for everybody! There are also amazing darker shades that can really help transition into the upcoming fall and winter season! Overall I'm so impressed by these lip product and I can't wait to go back to the store and pick up a couple more I have had my eye on! If you are looking for these there are several sites that have them including, ikatehouse, beauty joint, morphe brushes and all cosmetics wholesale and they are all around $3! Happy Shopping :)
