Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipsticks | Review & Swatches!

Tuesday, November 25, 2014

If you visit my blog on a regular basis and follow me on Twitter; you will know that I had this post up earlier today and I was working hard to improve my blog and somehow managed to delete this review! I'm making up for it up by rewriting the post and getting it up as quickly as possible! I do want to apologize for accidentally deleting it and the inconvenience it may have caused! I recently was able to pick up the NEW Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipsticks at my local Wal-Mart and I was extremely excited. Unfortunately the display did not have all the colors and specifically some of the ones that I wanted, however I'm hoping to purchase those at a later date. And these were quite pricey at $7.97 for each lipstick, however I was lucky enough to be able to price match them for only $5.49, so they cost me a lot less. I also wanted to pick up a variety of shades while also picking up shades they were fairly popular like Touch of Spice and Lust For Blush, because its absolutely stunning.

After getting this home and testing them out, I wore Lust For Blush almost the entire first week I had this. I absolutely love the color of not only that shade but of all the shades. I was very excited to finally see a matte drugstore lipstick that really everyone loves. I'm super impressed with these not just for the colors, but also for the formula. Maybelline really got it right when they called these creamy matte's because these are absolutely that. These are a really creamy formula, however I don't know if I find these extremely matte. I do find these to be more of a matte/satin finish when applied to the lips and I really think that has to do with the creamy formula. I also find the lasting power on these quite good, I can go about 4 hours before they start to feel uncomfortable but this is how I feel with most lipsticks and then I usually take them off. However I do find I tend to like to reapply these because they are such a great pigmented, creamy and matte like formula.
Shades (left to right): Lust For Blush, Ravishing Rose & Touch of Spice

As you can from the swatches above these are really pigmented and creamy lipsticks. They don't cling to the skin, and they slide on the hand and lips so effortlessly. I am loving Lust For Blush as its a very pretty color and if you know the Maybelline range you also know they have a Color Whisper named Lust For Blush and I mainly picked this color up to compare and I will also be doing a blog post within the next week or two showing you all side-by-side swatches and comparing them to each other. Overall I'm really loving all of the shades I picked up and I'm looking at picking some more shades really soon. I'm so impressed with how pigmented these are and how great they really are on the lips. I think these also make a great addition to a lipstick collection because they are super affordable and matte! If your looking for a great matte lipstick I highly recommend checking these out!

    1. I'm a huge fan of sheer lipsticks but sometimes I want some pigment on my lips. These are incredibly! I was looking for Divine Wine though and I couldn't find it anywhere! I heard that one is really great if your looking for a dark color!
