Smokey Winged Liner | Amanda Ensing Inspired Look!

Wednesday, November 5, 2014

I was feeling very inspired today and after spending a little time last night watching some much needed YouTube Tutorials I was shocked at how many looks I wanted to try. Today I decided to do a lovely look inspired by the amazing Amanda Ensing: who if you don't know is a well-known beauty video maker on YouTube. She recently posted a tutorial where she did a very simply yet unique smokey eyeliner and paired it with Mac Cyber Lipstick! You can check out her tutorial here! This is the look that I came up with after being inspired by hers. I do want to mention that this is only an inspiration of that look; in no way am I trying to say I created the look perfectly because trust me, I can not do winged eyeliner to save my life - this was honestly my third attempt at winged eyeliner!

Products Used:
Primer:
Milani Eyeshadow Primer
Base:
Milani Brow & Eye Highlighter in Matte Cream
Eyeliner:
Essence Super Fine Waterproof Felt Tip Liner in Black
Eyeshadow:
Joe Fresh Single Shadow in Smokey
Mascara(s):
Essence I <3 Extreme Mascara in Black (top lashes)
NYC City Curls in Black (bottom lashes)

I really do love how this look turned out. I think its a fairly simply look for someone who has been playing around with makeup for a while. But I also think this is a fun look to experiment with if you have never done something like winged liner before (such as myself). I of course has my issues to, such as not being able to get my wings to match but I just went with it and rocked the uneven wing for the entire day! I believe that makeup is about expressing yourself and it doesn't always need to be perfect to be pretty and flawless. I even paired up a purple lipstick with this, if anyone's wondering, I used Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipsticks in Delicious. Which is more of a mauve, purple toned color but its quite natural on my lips since they are quite pigmented.

I really hope that you all enjoyed seeing my Amanada Ensing Inspired look. If you did enjoy seeing this please let me now in the comments or by favoriting this post on Bloglovin (link is below)! Also don't forget to check out my social media to see tones more pictures of this look and many more!

    1. It was honestly perfect. It was still edgy and cute but gave me a little bit more than just a boring winged eyeliner. I recommend trying it!

    1. She's an amazing makeup artist, I'm not sure if she went to school for it though. But she does some great work. And I haven't mastered the smokey eye either, its something I'm always practicing ad trying to really nail down! Good luck playing around with it!

    1. I loved this look! It was the only day my winged eyeliner looked half decent. I always struggle with creating the perfect wing. Because I wear glasses and can't see without them, I find it really hard to apply eyeliner! :(

    1. Thank-you so much! My eyeliner is still a work in progress, I wear glasses and can't see without them so I'm always struggling to apply my eyeliner. This day it came out perfect though!

    1. Thank-you so much! I find eyeliner really hard, because I wear glasses and can't see without them, I find it hard to get the eyeliner on and then make it match on both eyes.

    1. Mine too! I just find it so hard to do, because I wear glasses and can't see without them, I find it hard to really get even and straight lines and then make each eye match!
