Day & Night Looks Featuring: Hard Candy Sassy Eyes Palette!*

Friday, August 28, 2015

Hi Beauties! It's been a hot minute since I last posted a makeup look or an eye look. Because I haven't been wearing a whole lot of full face makeup it's been hard for me to take pictures and all that kind of thing. Recently I decided to spend an afternoon doing some makeup looks and testing out some new products to review here on the blog. I decided I would dig out the Hard Candy tin palette's that just released. Originally I was going to do both a look from the Sassy Eyes Palette and one from the Smoky Eyes Palette, but after seeing the Sassy Eyes Palette I immediately put the Smoky Eyes Palette away. When I first looked at the palettes side by side and did some arm swatches I knew that the Sassy Eyes Palette is much more versatile and I then wanted to put it to the test. I decided to create both a day time look and a night time look using the exact same set of products but different shades of eyeshadows from the palette. The star of the show is really the eyeshadow palette itself, while the other products are also amazing I wanted to depict the quality in this palette by showing you ladies (and gents) what it looks like when applied.

First Impressions:
Since I've only used this product a few times I can't really sit down and write a whole review on. But I did want to share some of my thoughts on the product and I thought doing a 'First Impressions' suited that. All of these new Hard Candy Palettes come in a really nice tin packaging. I like that its sturdy and durable and that it's cute. I also think this packaging lends itself well to traveling and that the inserts inside with your products in are removable so that once you are finished using the product you can actually keep the tin they come into use for storage of other things. As for the actual products inside this eyeshadow palette, it comes with a mini eyeshadow primer, eyeliner and a brush. The eye primer has quickly become one of my favorite and I plan to do a full review on in the near future. As for the eyeliner and brush, I honestly am just going to throw them away because I don't enjoy traditional pencil eyeliners and I'm not a fan of the sponge tip brushes. As for the shadows, I think they are very powdery and messy when you put your brush into them, and you might be able to tell this from my image above. I think once you get the shadows on the eye though, they blend very well but they aren't super pigmented. To get a really good wash of color I had to layer the shadow several times and they took much more work than your regular eyeshadow. I personally, don't mind working with harder to use shadows because it's something that I purchase and I'm not going to let it sit around and go bad all because it takes a bit of extra work. But I know this turns some people off of products. But despite an unsatisfactory first impression I do think this palette creates two very pretty and distinct looks. And could create a much larger range of looks depending on the shadows you pair together. Since this is only a first impressions of the product, we all know that thoughts and opinions can change. So as I continue to use these palettes I will do a more comprehensive review in the future.

I hope you enjoyed seeing a makeup look finally and one with a fairly new and inexpensive product. So far I've really been enjoying these palettes from the drugstore while they aren't the best they also aren't the worst that I've tried before. Let me know if there are more palettes or products you would like to see put to the test and done in a more demo sort of fashion. I've really been trying to improve Little Beauty Bug lately and I hope that I'm making good progress at doing so. Please don't hesitate to ever let me know if there is something you would like to see on my blog or even if there is something you feel like I could change or improve. Thank you all so much for sticking by me in this growing period and thanks for reading today's post!
