July Spending Ban!

Thursday, July 3, 2014

Recently I have been having issues with being able to save money but however I would really like to. There are a few high end items I would like to try and purchase along with a couple of things online, so to help and encourage me to save money I am official putting myself on a SPENDING BAN! I wanted to make a blog about this because I want to be help accountable and I want to know that I'm not only doing this for myself but also helping, encouraging and showing others that this is possible!

In doing this SPENDING BAN I am going to be UNABLE to purchase makeup/cosmetics, skincare & hair care items along with clothing! (Unless I am getting something I have used up and NEED)! The idea of the SPENDING BAN is to not only stop spending money but to also help me shop my own collection. I am also going to be trying to use up as many products as I can before repurchasing or using something else, here are the products that I will be using this month to *hopefully* use up COMPLETELY!

I know that this seems like an insane amount of items to be doing a project pan with, however most of these products are pretty much gone, I've hit pan on already or are things that just need to move on and move on and get out of my collection. I chose to incorporate multiples of products (such as 3 mascaras) because I don't tend to use the same products every single day, I wanted to give myself a nice variety to pick from and to create different looks! I also included some things like my current every bronzer and some lippies, these are ones I tend to use the most and want to at least make a nice dent in using them up, however they may not get finished by the end of the month!

I hope that you will enjoy taking this journey with me and experiencing whats its like to try and not buy the newest and latest products! I'm also going to be updating on my SPENDING BAN every single day on twitter so if you want to know more about it PLEASE follow me there (the link is below)! I will also be updating on all my other social media links below as well! :)

How do you save money?!

    1. This will be my first even spending ban and I'm really excited to use up products that I have been wanting to finish but its hard seeing makeup sales and having coupons and wanting to buy new products - for instance LOreal Butterfly Mascara is on sale and I have a 2 dollar off coupon but I also have 6 mascara sitting in my backups drawer to use up and try!

  2. I never thought of a spending ban helping you shop your own collection before.
I'm always rediscovering old things that I've forgotten about that are great.
Good luck with this- I wouldn't be able to do it!

    1. The idea for me was to 'shop' my collection to help me pick out products that I would use over the course of this month. I will also continue the same pattern next month, I will chose products that I like and begin to use them, love them and use them up. That way its easier for me to justify buying new products because I'm using old ones.

  3. This is such a good idea, but I don't think I would ever stick to it because I hate things running out in my makeup collection!! I have just been given the Maybelline baby skin primer and I'm excited to try it although I haven't heard the best things, hopefully it will work for my dry skin..do you like it?xxx

    1. When I first began using the Baby Skin Primer I did have dry skin and I found because it is thicker than most primers it really did well on my skin. However I do remember it breaking me out but I have acne prone and severe sensitive skin (and as on medication to clear the ance) since I have been using the primer and my skin has been completely clear, no breakouts! I also find it really makes my makeup last all day and doesn't make my makeup cake up in places like around the nose and chin areas!

      Hope that helped :)
I can do an 'empty' review once I finish the product up!
