Real Techniques Brushes - Are they worth the hype?

Friday, October 10, 2014

Real Techniques brushes are something that every makeup obsessed lover should have in her or his collection. There well made and extremely good quality and they come in so many different shapes and sizes. The main reason I love these brushes is because they are synthetic and there very easy to use and wash! I wash these once or twice every two weeks (which I know doesn't seem like a lot) but it does the job. Some of these I have had for a year or more and some I've had for a few months and they are still holding up!

Face:
One of my favorite face brushes by Real Techniques is the Powder Brush (not shown above), this I use for several different reasons but the one that I love using it for most is to bronze my face and bring some warmth to it. This brush makes that really easy to do because the brush doesn't have densely packed hairs and it makes it easy to apply a small amount of product. Another face brush that I love is the Contour Brush (4th in the image), I don't like to do a heavy contour so this brush makes it really easy to make a small, light and blended contour without being to heavy or unnoticeable. Another great face brush that I recommend is the Setting Brush this brush is something I use for a variety of different things, I love it for contouring my nose, blending eyeshadow's on my brow bone and blending out concealer on the face but my favorite way to use this is to apply highlighter to my face because it creates a very light cast of the powder so I don't look so shiny that it comes off oily.

Eyes:
Real Techniques also makes some amazing eye brushes, however I don't reach for them on an everyday basis like the face brushes however I still have some amazing favorites. My absolute favorite is the Base Shadow Brush (last brush shown) and this is from the Starter Kit and can only be purchased in the kit, however this has many great uses its easy for application of shadows all over the lid but my main focus is to use it to help blend out eyeshadow's in my crease and outer v. Its quite dense and does allow for a pigmented application, so if I'm using brighter shades I tend to use this brush to pack the color on. The Fine Liner Brush is something I never thought I would like but I find it to be quite good for applying gel liner or using a black eyeshadow as your liner! I do prefer this one over the Silicone Liner Brush as I purchased that one first because of how slim and different it was, however when I tried to clean it the first time to tip broke. So I feel as if the Fine Liner Brush is much better constructed than the Silicone Liner Brush.

Lips:
Unfortunately I do not own any of the Real Techniques lip brushes however they are something I would purchase because I have had great experience with the other brush in the line. Hopefully one day I will be able to purchase some in the near future and be able to review them in a later post.

I highly recommend checking out any of the Real Techniques because I do believe they are worth the price and the hype. I think there great quality brushes made and developed by down to earth beauty lovers who really want to provide the best products to there customers.

Whats your favorite Real Techniques brush? Are these worth the hype to you?

    1. I have that brush as well and find it very useful! However I find it gets very dirty very fast especially if I'm using it for liquid products!
