Essence Waterproof GEL Eyeliner Pencils! | Review & Swatches!

Whats the one thing, when it comes to makeup, that you ladies really don't do or don't like doing? Mine has always been applying eyeliner on my lower lash line and waterline. I hate the smudged and dark mess that it makes after only a couple of hours of wear. Recently however, my mentality on the lower lash line eyeliner has changed and I really have the thank this wonderful Essence Cosmetics Waterproof GEL Eyeliner Pencil. These pencil's retail for about $3-$4 dollars here in Canada and are extremely affordable compared to most other products in our drugstore. These are also some of the best comparing them to brands like Revlon, L'Oreal and NYX - if you want to see some comparisons let me know!

After being able to test these pencil's out and really play with them now, for several weeks I think its time I finally sit down and rave and rant a little bit about these eyeliners because I think there something you all need in your life. I had the pleasure of being able to try out, not just your standard black, but also some other great and wonderful colors. I was really happy at how easy these were to use, unlike most pencil eyeliners my favorite thing is that these little babies are twist up pencils, - no sharpening needed! However in the case of these getting dull from use, I would take a sharpener to them to perfect the point, for better application. The other major thing, that I think its important in an eyeliner is the pigmentation, it really needs to be pigmented enough to be able to see on the upper lash line but also pigmented enough to last a long day on the lower waterline. As you can see from the swatches below, these pencils are beyond pigmented. They are also extremely creamy, most of the swatches below are only one swipe of the product. The only issue I did have with these is that they are so creamy, I did break the tip of the dark chocolate brown shade, of course I just sharpened it to create my point again. But imagine if I would have broken it while applying it on my lower water line - OUCH!
Shades (left to right): Cocoa Bean, Black Blaze, BLANK, Contains Caramine and BLANK!
* some of these pencils did not have shade names*

As you can tell I'm absolutely in love with these products and there something I actually use on a pretty regular basis. My favorite thing, other than using them to line my upper lash line is for my lower water line. I think the 'waterproof' aspect of these is extremely well done. I can wear these for anywhere from 6-8 hours before I really notice a little mess going on. Because I'm always so afraid of having racoon eyes, I am always worried about whats going on with them, so I find after that length of time there just wearing down and I mainly want to just get them off. However, they can last a lot longer than this time period! If you're looking for a great pencil eyeliner, I highly suggest picking these up because I don't think you will be disappointed! Also did I mention these are also an award winning product from Allure Magazine!

I hope you enjoyed my little review on these products, if you want to see more images or up-close photos be sure to follow me on my social media linked below. Also if you want to see more in-depth reviews on each colors please let me know!
