MAC Creme Cup Dupe's? | Swatches & Comparisons!

Monday, January 12, 2015

For some reason MAC Cosmetics makes the best lipsticks and I certainly can see why. Right from there creamy texture to there vanilla scent, these are a cult favorite in the beauty community and soon become mine as well. Although I only own Creme Cup, many people are always on the hunt for dupes of all types of highend products and this Mac lipstick is no exception. I am a nude and pink lipstick lover, if you came over and looked in my lipstick drawer you would see row upon row of nude and pink lipsticks and that's why I decided to make a little post comparing some of my favorite nude/pink lipsticks the the famous Mac Creme Cup! I do want to mention that no, none of these colors really are dupes for MAC Creme Cup, however many of them come very close and when applied to the lips and some colors look dead on. I decided to only show arm swatches in this post, but if you girls would like to see lip swatches, I would gladly do them!

As you can see from the swatches above I decided to swatch Creme Cup first and in this light it looks like a very red toned pink shade, however I do find it a bit more nude/pink on the lips, however I do have to say its a more bright pink on the lips than when its swatched. It will also depend on the actual pigmentation in your lips. Next to that you can see the Maybelline Color Whisper in Lust for Blush, which is a my lips but better color and it much more nude than what Creme Cup is. Next is Fairest Nude by L'Oreal, probably the lipstick in my collection I hate the most because first off the packaging is ugly and the smell is just super gross, I can't get over it. Beside that is Primrose by Revlon, which is another super popular color and is the closet to Creme Cup I could find, its a very pinky cool toned nude and is fairly bright toned as well. Next I have the Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Honeyed, which is actually one of my absolute favorites to wear everyday and this is another my lips but better color but its a slightly more pink version of a nude lipstick, but I find this is much more coral than Creme Cup. The last two shades are also meant to be nude shades, however are both darker nudes and as you can see from the image thy really don't match Creme Cup all that much. However I find Pink Minx from ELF Cosmetics, is a really close dupe to it, because I find it really picks up on the pink and red tones, but there is still something about it that just doesn't look right next to each other.

After all the comparing and trying them on my lips and swatching them all out, I really have not found my own personal dupe for MAC 's Creme Cup and in all honesty I don't really think I ever well. I can compare colors all I want, but I really don't think anything will ever compare to the texture and overall feel of a MAC lipstick! If your looking to splurge on a nice lipstick I recommend stopping by your local MAC store or MAC counter and seeing what they have. MAC has an amazing color and formula selection to chose from and so far I really don't think anything at the drugstore can live up to that!
