Valentines Day Makeup Look!

Tuesday, February 10, 2015

Hey Beauties! First off Happy Valentine's Day to you all even though this is probably a few days in advance - I hope you all have a fantastic Valentine's Day with your loved ones, pets or families! I decided like all the rest of the blogging and YouTube community that I would throw together a Valentine's Day Look in celebration of the holiday and for actually blogging regularly. I know that my blog lacks in makeup tutorials and looks so I thought I would put this one together for you and I have to say I'm really impressed by the way the entire look turned out - my photo's just don't do it justice!

This look, being a full faced look, was actually really simple to complete and only took me about 20-30 minutes which is relatively fast for me doing a whole full face of makeup. I started off by using my Hard Candy Color Correcting Sheer Envy Primer as my foundation base, I then applied the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer & Maybelline Master Concealer both under my eyes and around my redness on my nose and chin. I then applied a thin layer of the Covergirl Stay Fabulous 3 in 1 Foundation making sure to blend this down my neck because this foundation can look a bit orange on me - I applied this with a damp beauty blender. I then applied a layer of the NYC Smooth Skin Loose Setting Powder to give my face that set look but I find this powder to be very lightweight on my skin and it does a good job at giving me a bit of extra coverage. To finish off the face I used NYX Taupe Powder Blush was my bronzing and contouring shade around the perimiter of my face and also down the sides of my nose. I then used the NYX Spice Powder Blush as my blush to the apples of my cheeks and then blended back towards my contour and finally the ELF Shimmer in Pink for my highlight.

For the eyes I decided to go with the traditional Valentine's Day pink theme but added a smokey and sultry twist to my look. I started by using the Milani Eyeshadow Base and letting it set for the recommended thirty seconds before applying two pieces of tape to the outside edge of my eye so that I would be able to create a nice straight line and this would also help me in creating my winged eyeliner. I then applied the Maybelline Color Tattoo in Inked In Pink for my cream color base before applying my powder shadows. First thing I did when creating this look was use a fluffy blending brush to apply the ELF Mineral Pressed Shadow in Whats Your Name all through my crease and blended up towards my brow-bone. I then applied the Pink shade from the Wet N Wild Poster Child Palette all over my lid using a flat shader brush and went back in my with fluffy brush to help blend the lid and crease color together.  I then used my Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and applied Busted slightly into the outside edge of the crease to help give my look some more definition and then I went in with Blackout to deepen up just the outer v. Once I was happy with the way everything was blended and darkened I then went in with Essence's Single Shadow in Cappuccino Please as my brow bone highlight shade. I then spent some time applying the Maybelline Master Precise Liquid Liner Pen into a winged shade on my upper lashline and I also applied a nice coat of the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara making sure to apply enough so that my lashes really stood out!

Finally to finish this entire look off I keep the lips really simple by just applying my Maybelline Color Whisper in Lust For Blush. I also then set my entire face using the LO'real Pro Spray Makeup Extender Spray. I do have to say that I'm still not satisfied with the lip color I chose, I wanted to keep it very simple and neutral but I also think there are so many other lipstick choices that you would make when looking for something to pair with a smokey pink eyeshadow look - some of my other favorites were Covergirl Lip Perfection Lipstick in Delicious, Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Primrose and Maybelline Creamy Matte Lipstick in Lust For Blush! I hope you all enjoyed seeing and hearing about my special Valentine's Day look I created! 1. I actually hate the eyeliner on this look! I struggle with liner because I wear glasses and I'm blind without them. I do use the tape technique to try and get them to match, but I struggle with getting them thick enough!
