Everyday Brow Routine feat. Essence Cosmetics!*

Brows! There seems to be this huge hype lately surrounding having the perfect brows and using the right products to achieve your desired look. I have to admit, brows have never been a big deal to me. They have always been something that I've naturally had but never took the time to define, shape or fill in. Back in February, I caved and finally decided to get my brows waxed and some of the annoying extra hairs removed and cleaned up. I stuck to my natural thick and full brow but just with a more polished and precise look. This still doesn't require me to use a lot of product in my brows other than filling them in and really defining them to the best of their ability.

Over the past month I've finally found a brow routine that really works for me and is quick, easy and does exactly what I need it to do. Not to mention that the products I'm talking about retail for $2 - $4 here in Canada, making this the most inexpensive brow routine I've ever had. If you haven't guessed by now I'm talking about products from my FAVORITE drugstore brand, Essence Cosmetics. As I've gotten to try many products from Essence I've branched into trying their brow products including their Eyebrow Designer Pencil in Blonde*, Fixing Wax* and Make me Brow in Blonde.

All of these products used separately work exceptionally well and do wonderful things for your brows. For example, if you are going for a more natural look just add some of the Fixing Wax into your brows and away you go. If you looking for a little bit more color and for your brows to stay in place, use the Make me Brow. And finally, if you want to define the shade of your brows opt for just using the Eyebrow Designer. Across the board, I think all three of these products make excellent additions to the brow routine you are already using but taking it a step further and using all three product together will give you an entirely new brow game!

To begin my brow routine I always start with the Eyebrow Designer in Blonde. I begin filling in the sparse areas of my brows from the front and continue until I reach the tail. I tend to need to most filling near the front of my brows so I concentrate the product in that area with small feathery strokes so that I'm not creating any harsh lines.I then use the Make Me Brow in Blonde to go over my brows and blend the pencil in while giving some color to the actual hairs of my brows. I find this technique fills them in nicely and still gives me a natural brow look. One thing I want to point out about the Make Me Brow is the small brush. This brush allows me to really get into every hair on my brow without making a mess all over my skin.

Last but not least, I use the Fixing Wax at the front of my brows to stick down some of the more crazy hairs that I have. I don't tend to need to use this product anywhere else other that the front of my brows and in rare cases (like sleeping crazy the night before). Combining all three of these products and using them in this order allows me to have a natural looking perfected brow with spending a half hour drawing them in and getting my brows the right shape and color.

With all that being said I highly recommend heading to your Target or Shoppers Drug Mart to grab these three inexpensive and amazing products. While I know there are so many brow products out there at various price points, I really do feel like Essence has hit it out of the park with their formula's on all three products. Whether you are someone new to makeup or advanced I think all three of these products could serve a purpose in your collection.

What is your current brow routine?
Have you tried any of these Essence products?

    1. The gel is really great. Not only is it a gel but it's also tinted and contains little fibers which help to bring out the appearance of your natural brows while holding them in place :)

    1. My favorite line from the drugstore hands down! I've only tried one product that I didn't like and it was more personal preference then the product itself!

  3. I really want to try the Make Me Brow, but my local Wilko (the shop that stocks Essence in the UK) doesn't have any of their brow products in yet. *sigh* I'm allergic to one of the ingredients in the Benefit equivalent, so really, really want to get this one! Xx

    1. I believe the Make Me Brow was launched in the United States about a year ago and is only making its way to Canada now. Do you know what ingredient in the Benefit one your allergic to?

    1. I was shocked! I used each product alone for a while and then decided one day to use them together. I've really noticed a different in my brows since and I love the way they come out every time!
