Review: Revlon Colorstay Foundation

Sunday, March 30, 2014

Hey Dolls!
Recently I have been trying to find some new foundation to use that my skin will like better. I have suffered with acne in the past and it has yet again come back on me, therefore I am now trying to find non-comedogenic products (which basically means that they will not clog pores)! After doing a lot of research I found out that the Revlon Colorstay Foundation fit into that category and so I decided to pick it up!

If anyone is interested I am in the shade Ivory and I did pick the foundation up for Normal to Dry Skin, because I found that this would better suit my skin type right now (in winter) than anything else!

Overall, this foundation has really worked for me, its lightweight, does not clog my pores, evens out my skin tone and provides great hydration through the day. I was shocked at how sticky the foundation was when I first applied it though and show shiny my skin appeared, since I had never tried a hydrating (for dry skin) foundation I was really not aware that it would do this. It took some time to get used to but after about 10 minutes the foundation does set and become less sticky and after applying a powder the dewy or shiny finish went away completely.

The only down side to this product I found was the coverage, it does not cover well, unfortunately it is a very light coverage foundation and I can see my dark spots and red spots through the foundation. This had more of a hydrating BB Cream effect than anything else, however now that I have been using it for a while I find that beneficial to my skin! To cover any of those nasty spots that the foundation leaves peaking through I just use a concealer with a light hand or brush, this works the best for me!

  1. This sounds like a perfect foundation, too bad the coverage isn't better though.

    1. Its perfect for dry skin, the coverage is the only thing that sucks, I however don't like really heavy foundation, so it wasn't a huge deal for me. I don't mind my imperfections showing through :)

    1. I'm glad that I was able to get my first one on a discount! Its a good foundation for acne prone or dry skin that's for sure! I'm not 100% sure I'd rebuy it though but considering the price and great things about it, I just may.
